The value is illustrative, but the range is real: the scrap-based EAF route typically comes to around 0.4–0.7 t CO₂e/t, versus over 2 t for the integrated blast furnace + converter route. The exact calculation methodology will be set in the ESPR delegated act.

The passport is the digital continuation of the 3.1 certificate: the same heat data — chemical composition and mechanical tests — but machine-readable, reachable through the QR code on the label and linked to the batch all the way to the construction site.
The ESPR delegated act for iron and steel has not been adopted yet — which is why you will not see a field count here. The structure shown is a working one, built on the requirements of ESPR Annex III, and will be aligned once the act is adopted.
