Tyres are among the few products that already carry a mandatory EU label — under Regulation (EU) 2020/740. Today's label is the passport's predecessor: the passport does not replace it, it extends it with materials, supply chain and circularity.

Full compound recipe
The rubber compound recipe is a trade secret. The passport contains it but does not make it public — that is exactly what access tiers are for: the buyer sees the composition by material group, while the full recipe stays locked.
Natural rubber falls within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products (EUDR). The due-diligence statement and the geolocation of the plantations have been filed in the EU information system.

The reference number of the EUDR due-diligence statement for the natural rubber is recorded in the passport — visible to surveillance authorities. Supplier names are available to professionals.
Suitability for retreading
Yes — the casing is designed for one cycle
Repairability
Punctures in the tread area — yes, per the manufacturer's instructions
Recycled content
8% (reclaimed rubber and recovered carbon black)
Separate collection (end-of-life tyres)
Mandatory — via recovery organisations
Retreading gives the casing — the most expensive part of the tyre — a second life. The passport travels with the item: the retreader sees the casing's history, and the tyre's status is updated.
Laboratory abrasion test
Performed · the result awaits a harmonised method
Euro 7 abrasion limits
Coming — the methodology is being finalised
Tyre and road wear particles (TRWP) are among the largest sources of microplastics in the environment. The Euro 7 regulation introduces tyre abrasion limits for the first time; the harmonised measurement method is still being finalised. Once it is ready, the values will live right here — in the passport.
This is the public tier. The full structure is a working one — per ESPR, Annex III.
There is no adopted delegated act for the tyre passport yet — it is expected indicatively towards the end of 2027, with the real obligation around 2029. That is why you will not see “the exact number of fields” here: nobody knows it yet. WIARA maintains the full working field structure by product group and updates it with every Commission act. If tyres are your product, start from it rather than from zero.
